Black Sea ferrous scrap merchants .are refusing to bow to pressure from Turkish buyers and are keeping offer prices at stable levels. Scrap sales into Turkey have been quiet for about three weeks as buyers attempted to force merchants into lower offers and send the market tumbling from highs of close to 300 per tonne dollars cfr Turkey levels. The most recent deep sea cargoes reported to MB were a couple of HMS 12 (80:20) cargoes from the US east coast at 288 per tonne dollars cfr, about 3 per tonne dollars less than previous sales three weeks earlier.
