Data Hiding Scheme for AM Radio Broadcast Using Blind Watermarking Technique

This paper presents a data-hiding scheme for AM radio signals. We investigate feasibility of applying a blind watermarking technique for AM radio signals. Experiments were carried out to test the inaudibility of the watermark and the accuracy of watermark detection. Additionally compatibility of the hiding system with conventional radio devices was also investigated. The experimental results suggested that the watermark is inaudible and can be precisely extracted. Suitably-equipped receivers can extract the watermark along with the audio signal while conventional receivers can extract the audio signal. The proposed scheme could be used to broadcast audio signals and digital information to receivers over an AM radio link.
