Abrasive machining of advanced ceramics

摘要

The industrial demand for structural ceramic productswith narrow tolerances and a high-quality surface finish has increasedthe need for machining processes capable of producing ceramiccomponents to the required specification. This work aims to review anumber of processes used in the abrasive machining of advancedceramics, aided by the use of scanning electron micrographs. A designproposal for lapping and polishing wheels is also introduced.
