Evaluation of raster moire fringe patterns having various modes on entire screen of color CRTs

An evaluation of raster moire patterns appearing on an entire CRT screen has been performed in order to reduce perception of the patterns. The moire modes under consideration are, (2,1), a combination of(1,1) and (2,2), and a combination of (1,1) and (2,3). A 46-cm diagonal color CRT (screen size: 360×270 mm) is investigated with QSXGA, SXGA, and SVGA rasters. For the evaluation, a Gaussian Weighting Method is used which enabled the calculation of moire contrast for various moire modes.
