Substituted and substituted mixed tetrahalo-manganates(II) of the type RMnLX3 and RMnLX2Y (where R = (C2H5)4N, (n-C3H7)4N, (n-C4H9)4N, (C6H5)4P or (C6H5)4As; L = quinoline or triphenylphosphine, X and Y = Cl, Br or I) have been isolated and characterized. From spectral and magnetic studies, these complexes are found to possess tetrahedrally coordinated Mn(II) ion.
