U.S.: Appellate Body Ruling In Korean Washers Case Rewrites WTO Rules

In a closely watched case involving the alleged dumping of Korean washers, the United States at a Sept. 26 meeting of the World Trade Organization's Dispute Settlement Body claimed that a Sept. 7 DSB Appellate Body ruling effectively rewrites provisions of the WTO Antidumping Agreement in its finding against the U.S. Commerce Department's method of calculating duties in targeted dumping cases.
