Nunes Backs Off Amendment Aimed At Ensuring TPP Eliminates All Tariffs

House Ways & Means Trade subcommittee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) late last week said he had backed off an effort to block the Obama administration from concluding a Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal that does not eliminate all tariffs, after receiving a commitment from U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman to pursue a high-standard TPP deal and to consult closely with Congress on the negotiations.
