Photorefractive effect in ferroelectric lead germanate

The photorefractive effect is demonstrated for the first time in ferroelectric lead germanate crystal (Pb5Ge3O11). An intensity coupling constant of Ggr;=2.3 cmminus;1was measured at wavelength lgr;=514.5 nm in twohyphen;beam coupling experiments.
