A tunnelling correction factor for the modified near-field technique

摘要

A tunnelling correction factor is derived for modified near-field scanning. This correction is insensitive to core profile shape and can be accurately applied to fibres with core noncircularity. Examples are given which demonstrate its accuracy for both step- and parabolic-index core fibres.
