Recently 12 people died when a ship collided with an oil platform in the Bombay High oil field area, sparking a fire that gutted a rig that produced one sixth of India's oil. The ship had no malicious intent; it was there to pick up a sick worker on the platform. This tragic case highlights the dangers facing workers on the oil and gas supply chain.
