Setting the Standard for Wireless: End-Users Are Driving ISA100

Since becoming the ISA100 co-chair in September 2007, I've been impressed with the over 400 committee members, 60 of them volunteering almost full time. We have the privilege of working with the smartest industrial wireless experts and a diverse end-user community. End-users understand the importance of having a wireless standard. As plant networks are consolidated, it is difficult to manage more than two wireless networks. The supplier community is listening to end user recommendations, making this a market driven standard.
