The Israeli Air Force retired its F-16A/B Netz fighters in December, immediately offering the aircraft for sale. AFTER AN IMPRESSIVE 36 years of active use, the F-16A/B Netz (meaning 'hawk' in Hebrew) was retired from active duty with the Israeli Air Force (IAF) on December 26. In a well-attended ceremony at Ovda Air Base, the final Netz unit, 115 'Flying Dragon' Squadron - also known as the 'Red Squadron' - phased the type out of service.
