Potential to improve operations and maintenance

With all the hype in the press about the "new" Internet of Things (IoT) and what it offers industry, it is challenging to decide which pieces are best for an organization and how to get started. The fact is, what is best for your organization is probably at least a bit different from what is best for another organization. Systems and processes no longer exist in and of themselves. With connectivity and visibility throughout the enterprise, the interrelationship between all parts of an organization is becoming obvious. This provides new opportunities for improvement and for leveraging technology to achieve more efficient operations.
