Simultaneous aortic and pulmonary artery aneurysms

A 50-year-old hypertensive man had been diagnosed with pulmonary valve stenosis and regurgitation at the age of 30 years. A recent computed tomography scan (Figure 1) showed dilatation of both the ascending aorta and pulmonary trunk, 5.5 cm in maximum diameter. Serial echocardiography showed a gradual rise in the pulmonary valve pressure gradient. At surgery, both the dilated ascending aorta and main pulmonary artery occupied the pericardial cavity (Figure 2).
