The purpose oft his study is examining the influence of leachate and effluent from the RD Engineering. Co.'s final disosal site in Ritto-cho (Kurita-gun, Shiga Prefecture) to the ecosystem in the aquatic animals at Kyodo-like Pond. According to the officials of Ritto-cho and the countermeasure committee, they are going to ask Shiga Prefecture to that the waste water. In this report, we can see the actual conditions of the biota at the pond where the samples were obtained in december, 2000 As the result, it was indicated that there is small and undoubtedly contaminated area in the pond. In future, we will research the conditions of biota in treated leachate. We finished the sampling in May and September, 2001, and now the samples are udder the processes of identification and analysis
