Controlling homogeneity and reproducibility in the production of heavy plates

摘要

To derive a representative assessment of theachieved level of control in the production of heavy plates theincreasing relevancy and the various aspects of homogeneity andreproducibility criteria ,the role of process control and theinvestigation methods have to be considered .The aspects offitness for use and of fabrication are driving forces for a narrowcontrol of plate properties ,which includes the homogeneitywithin all parts of a delivered plate and also the repeatability ofproperties from plate to plate produced for the same specificationor order .With view to the specified range ofcomposition ,process parameters and mechanical propertiesadapted target ranges are defined .The steps of production arecontrolled and monitored by process computers .So the desiredlevel of the capability of the process can be assured .This is aprerequistie for process control.
