We are in a "good news, bad news" situation. The electronics industry is entering the autumn busy season, end market demand is stable, inventories are under control, and electronic component orders are recovering from their current down- ward correction. But... more and more electronic assembly has shifted to low-cost regions and recently worrisome financial news (housing market downturn, tighter credit, ever-increasing energy costs) threaten to torpedo consumer and business spending.
