Only a few years ago, piping components, balance valves, and temperature controls were single products specified by design engineers and installed by mechanical and controls contractors. Today, all of these components can be found in a specialty valve that enhances functional performance with lower installation/maintenance costs. As products are combined, design engineers and mechanical/controls/balance contractors play new roles in achieving building system balance and reducing owners' energy costs.
