Light stimulated activity of nitrate reductase in apple roots

摘要

The nitrate reductase activity in the roots of apples grown in the dark for 48 hr prior to assay ws lower than the grown under normal conditions of alternating 12 hr light and 12 hr darkness. Removal of leaves, cincturing the stem, and application of a photosynthetic inhibitor also lowered reductase activity in the light.
