With the advent of CAD applications, engineers and designers required a method to easily share their electronic documents with others. Due to their wide use and free viewing software, Adobe's PDF files became a standard format for sharing CAD drawings. In our March 2004 article, "Share your drawings easily with Adobe Acrobat professional," we discussed using adobe acrobat professional 6.0, which integrates nicely with autoCAD to create PDF files that can be shared. In this article, we'll cover creating PDF files using the Acrobat system printer driver, which lets you create a PDF file not only from AutoCAD, but virtually ANY software program that runs on the Windows platform.
