A study of the morphology ofScenedesmus obliquus, as affected by various media, was initiated. Coenobium formation was favored with the addition of 0.1 glucose to the medium, whereas the addition of 1.5 yeast extract resulted in production of unicells.Dactylococcusstages were produced in the absence of an organic substrate. There appeared to be no correlation between cell morphology and growth rate.
