Glass transitions of some block copolymers

AbstractA number of block and graft copolymers have been prepared from several vinyl monomers, and their glass transition temperatures measured. The series included polar, nonpolar and polar‐nonpolar pairs. It was found in all cases except one that the glass transition temperatures were close to those found for the individual homopolymers. The exception was a block copolymer of styrene and α‐methylstyrene, the only pair whose homopolymers would give clear mixed solutions in a mutual sol
