Adducts Between Bis(1,2,4-Triazol-1-yl)Methane and First Row Transition Metal Halides or Nitrates

The exopolydentate title ligand gave 2:1 adducts with Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) chloride or nitrate, and with copper(II) bromide. These thermally stable adducts are insoluble in most organic solvents but are soluble in dimethylsulphoxide, where there is partial ionic dissociation.
