Waveguide-type acoustooptic switches can switch optical waves wavelength-selectively for WDM signals. The switches can be expected to be used in WDM photonic routing. In this report, FDTD simulation is presented for a device consisting of directional coupler and Y-branches in order to evaluate wavelength-selectivity in switching. The simulated results are compared with the result from coupled mode theory. Furthermore, segmented FDTD method is discussed to simulate long interaction-length devices, where optical short pulse is propagated.
