AbstractMembers of theMYCgene family, includingMYC,NMYC, andLYMC, have been found amplified and expressed at high level in various human cancers. We have analysed the expression of two members of theMYCgene family,NMYCandMYC, in human and murine neuroblastoma cells. WheneverNMYCandMYCare co‐expressed,MYCexpression predominates. Cells carrying high expression ofNMYCas result of amplification lackMYCexpression. The same is true for neuroblastoma cells in which expression of a single‐copyNMYCis upregulated or into which a vector forcing high expression of an exogenousNMYChad been introduced by transfection. Our studies indicate a regulatory interaction betweenMYCandNMYCin neuroblastoma ce
