With its futuristic, extraterrestrial case design, the Area-51 ALX SLI looks like no other computer we've seen. And Alienware's commitment to performance ensured that, at the time, it behaved like no other: Until Intel's Penryn technology smashed all existing speed records in late 2007, the ALX was the fastest desktop we'd tested. Decked out with top components-nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX graphics cards, 2GB of RAM, and more-it was a force to be reckoned with. We have no reason to believe Alienware's use of the latest Intel and AMD technologies won't keep these PCs on top in 2008 and beyond.
