Cultured crown gall tissue ofVinca roseaL. was found to contain, in addition to the previously reported cytokinins zeatin, zeatin riboside, and the 0-glucosides of these two compounds, relatively high levels of zeatin-9-D-glucopyranoside. This is the first conclusive identification of an endogenous cytokinin 9-glucoside.
