摘要

The reaction of tris(dihydroxyphosphonomethyl)phosphinoxide,2,2'-bipyridyne and copper(II)chloride gave rise to the complex[Cu(2,2'-bipy){OP(CH_2PO_3H_2)(CH_2PO_3H)_2}]_n,where an intricate system of hydrogen bonding interactions creates a 2D layer network.In the design of inorganic-organic hybrid metal complexes,the phosphonic acids display a great potentiality,as the high number of oxygen donors and the remarkable acidity(superior to that of the corresponding carb-oxylic acids)make these ligands suitable to be utilized in the building up of extended molecular systems.Their structures,which depend on a plethora of factors,as the metal type,the nature of organic function and the reaction conditions are actually mostly polymeric,with variously dimensioned networks.In this context,very important is the role played by some non-covalent inter-molecular forces,as the pi-pi stackings and particularly the hydrogen bonding interactions to increase the dimensionality of the polymerization[1-6].
