Selenium content of cows given sodium milk from selenate

The selenium content of cows' milk is elevated by administering to the animals, orally or subcutaneously, doses of 50 mg Se as sodium selenate. However, the consumption of milk containing the highest selenium level observed following such treatment could not be regarded as a health hazard.
