摘要

Real-time monitoring of the growth of spoilage and pathogenic microorganisms, and for probiotic microorganisms would help industry to evaluate the immediate effects of processing on microbial growth. This report describes the development of a real-time bioluminescence monitoring system for the assessment of ozone (a sanitiser) on the growth of an Escherichia coli construct with a bioluminescent gene. The work demonstrates the potential of the method for monitoring the effectiveness of decontamination processes.
