A new method for wave resistance facilitates the integration of highly oscillatory functions and results in a fast and accurate algorithm for the Kochin functions in the first approximation of Noblesse's New Slender Ship Theory. By limiting the wave steepness, good agreement with test results for Wigley and Series-60 hulls can be demonstrated, but the method is not suited for flat ships.
