We were pleased to see Ones and Dilchert's (2012) call to action regarding industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology's role in environmental sustainability efforts in organizations. Based on the increasing number of companies participating these days in the likes of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (http://www.sustainabilityindex.com/), not to mention promoting their own efforts on their externally focused branding websites, environmental sustainability has clearly become more prominent in the strategic objectives of global organizations. Despite this trend, however, it is clear to us that the focus of I-O psychology has not kept pace. So Ones and Dilchert's call to our field was both timely and appropriate.
