SAFE AND GREEN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FUNGICIDES

摘要

Most of the fungicides used conventionally are madeof chemical substances having the capacity to kill pestsand other disease causing microorganisms in plants. Thesefungicides have gained more importance among the farmersin order to protect their crops from undesired pests andother harmful microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria.However, conventional fungicides have certain drawbackssuch as when applied into plants, these fungicides mightsome times end up killing microorganisms and other insectsthat are beneficial to the plant's growth. Moreover, thechemicals used in the formulation of fungicides whendisposed of into the environment might cause severaladverse environmental effects. In order to overcome thesedrawbacks, there is a need to develop green andenvironmentally friendly fungicides that can be adminis-tered into plants without the risk of polluting thesurrounding environment.
