摘要

Protein purification is a fundamental application inmolecular biology. Over the years the process of proteinpurification and analysis has undergone many changesleading to the evolution of new technologies. Whilepurification steps are largely similar, changes exist withrespect to the type of proteins that are being prepared. While it is common knowledge that the process of proteinpurification involves separation and solublization steps inorder to perform analytical processes, the key challenge hasbeen in developing systems that eliminate the taggingprocess so commonly employed in mass spectrometryanalysis, the golden requirement for protein analysis andfurther in reducing the time and quantity required in terms ofthe protein isolated. These challenges have typically beenthe rate limiting steps in the elaborate processes of proteinpurification. The need of the hour is to develop systems thatcan suitably offer a holistic platform for accelerated proteinpurification and analysis.
