The latest project staged by the Builders Association, a New York-based "cross-media" theater outfit, occupies an ambitious virtual world where live actors share the stage with performers who exist only as ethereal projections, or are swallowed in a tornado of information—a thousand gigabytes of light, outlining the 21st century's culture of surveillance.
