To illustrate the advantages of GPR survey for environment, two field experiments are presented. One demonstrates the application of GPR to monitor the dynamic groundwater migration; the other shows the GPR survey of permafrost. In the groundwater survey, the groundwater level was determined by CMP and TDR and it is located at about 7m in depth. Two-dimensional cross correlation of two GPR profiles was calculated to improve the coherency of the two profiles. The residual GPR profile showed that the wet soil region above the groundwater level changed. However, the change of the groundwater level could not be clearly found. The other experiment for permafrost could emphasized an ice layer of substructure. By band pass filter, f-k filer, diffraction stacking and AGC, we could estimate the depth of the ice layer at about 5m and the diameter of the ice area is about 20m.
