Preoperative Evaluation of Liposarcoma by Nuclear Imaging

Three patients with large soft tissue liposarcomas were evaluated preoperatively with static and dynamic imaging. The concentration of isotope within the tumor appears to be proportionate to regional blood flow though, the exact physiological mechanism responsible for localization is not certain. Dynamic imaging is particularly useful for delineating large feeder vessels and defining the blood vascular pool. The imaging appearance is not characteristic for any particular tumor.
