This paper presents the study results on an input channel filter and a high-power output multiplexer that can be used for the next generation broadcast/telecommunications satellite payload. For an input channel filter, the synthesis results of a 10th-order group-delay-self-equalized resonator filter is presented. The synthesis results are verified through the test of a Ka-band dual-mode cavity filter. Also, study results on Ka-band and X-band dielectric compact filters are presented to be applied to input multiplexer. The developed output multiplexer has seven channel filters coupled with a manifold. Each channel filter is realized by a 5th-order dual-mode waveguide filter. The tuning process and the result as well as the design process through optimizations and the result are presented.
