Immature B cells obtained from the ileal Peyer’s patches (IPPs) of sheep, upon exposure to phorbol myristate acetate (PMA), expressed 20–30 times more sIgM per cell than nonstimulated IPP cells, and the sIgM level was the same as that of peripheral B cells.
