Burst Error Recovery for VF Arithmetic Coding

摘要

One of the disadvantages of compressed data is theirvuinerability, that is, even a single corrupted bit in compresseddata may destroy the decompressed data com- pletely. Therefore,Variable-to-Fixed length Arithmetic Coding, or VFAC, with errordetecting capability is discussed. However, implementable errorrecovery method for compressed data has never been proposed.
