摘要

Output powers up to 63 Wsol;m and lifetimes in excess of 1000 hr are obtained with sealedhyphen;off CO2lasers. The addition of 0.2 torr H2O or 0.2 torr H2to the convential mixture of CO2, N2, and He is essential for obtaining these results. The influence of the observed OH radials on the extended lifetime is discussed.
