The trend in the development of new injection systems is towards optimum performance obtained by means of higher injection pressures. The higher pressures are, in turn, made possible by more precise components, for which machines and tools have to be made available which are versatile and can be adapted to each individual machine operation. A numerically controlled precision honing machine is now making it possible to maintain the lowest tolerances without sacrificing process reliability, thus contributing in no small way to the introduction of new injection systems.
