GPs love to grumble. We have whole websites and social networks dedicated to telling people how hard we work and how stressed we are. We make hundreds of decisions every day, are abused by everyone from patients to the press, are taken for granted... it goes on and on. I, like most other GPs, am no stranger to stress and bewilderment at the demands of my job. So, please don't take what I am about to say as a criticism of people who are struggling or as some kind of rebuff to those who are seeking to better our working conditions. I'd just like to spend a moment focusing on some positives.
