The highs - and the lows - of fuel cell use across a range of materials handling and other equipment. Hamburg International Airport is testing two Still FC-driven tow tractors under real operating conditions for tasks currently performed by IC-driven vehicles. The airport intends to renew its fleet and to reduce the emission of exhaust fumes within the frame of two-year research project designed to allow intensive testing of the interplay between the FC system and the Still tractors. This will mainly focus on finding data for the travel and towing performance during a shift, as well as reliability, ease of control, energy consumption and possible range. The results and values will be compared with data for conventional tractors.
