Vickers Vimy replica NX71MY made its last ever flight when it flew to the Brooklands Museum, Surrey, onNovember 15. A large crowd gathered to witness the world's largest airworthy biplane touch down at14:42 after making the short hop from Dunsfold. Pilot John Dodd was assisted by co-pilot/engineer Clive Edwards,while Peter Macmillan, founder of the Vimy project and one of its former pilots, went along as a passenger.The Vimy's arrival marked the first official use of the museum's grass landing strip adjacent to the Mercedes-Benz World site. The Civil Aviation Authority had granted permission for it to be used just 48 hours earlier.
