Laser plasma coupling in long pulse, long scale length plasmas

Laser plasma coupling under near reactorhyphen;size target conditions is studied atIlgr;2bartil;1014W/cm2mgr;m2with 1hyphen;mm size plasmas, 3hyphen;kJ, 3hyphen;ns irradiations on the 1.064hyphen;mgr;m Shiva laser. Evidence for the occurrence of parametric processes, such as stimulated Brillouin sidescatter and the twohyphen;plasmon decay instability, is observed.
