IT in historic buildings

Few historic buildings can be museum pieces, suspended in time, on public view. Most must continue to evolve, to earn their keep as working buildings. Inevitably there is a tension between preserving their historic character and accommodating the evolving uses that finance their continued existence. Where this use is as offices, the increasing employment of communication and control technologies can create problems.
