INNOVATIVE silent piling technology is being used to increase the level of flood-risk protection at Deptford Creek, southeast London, without disturbing the neighbours. In a 563,000,10 pounds-week project, Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering's piling and foundations division, Stent, is joining forces with pioneering Japanese engineers Giken to prepare the way for the reconstruction of two existing frontages - Hiltons Wharf and Saxon Wharf - on the east bank of the creek near Greenwich.
