The KuaFu project is a triple-star mission, consisting of an L1 spacecraft to observe the Sun and make in situ measurements of the solar wind, and two geo-space satellites to make 24 h/day continuous observations of auroras from above the North Pole. The scientific objective is to observe the complete chain of disturbance from the solar atmosphere to the Earth’s immediate environment. The proposed launch date is sometime during the next solar maximum, i.e., between 2012-2014. A comprehensive review of the mission has already been completed.
