摘要

From designing emerqency shelters in warzones, to colonizing the moon, Nader Khalili is a visionary architect who has thought up some remarkably down to earth ideas. Now he is looking towards Australia. Almost thirty years ago the iraman-born designer gave up a conventional career designing high-nses in Tehran and Los Angeles and set off on a journey to discover how people lived in some of the world's most extreme environments. Khalili is now based in California's Mojave Desert and is an advocate of "earth architecture," the art of building cheap, simple and environmentally friendly ouildings with the stuff under our feet.
